Ingrid Goes West Adds O’Shea Jackson Jr., Billy Magnussen & Wyatt Russell

O’Shea Jackson Jr. (Straight Outta Compton), Billy Magnussen (Bridge of Spies) and Wyatt Russell (22 Jump Street) have joined the cast of Ingrid Goes West, Matt Spicer’s dark comedy starring Aubrey Plaza and Elizabeth Olsen. The film, written by Spicer and David Branson Smith, follows Ingrid Thorburn (Plaza) a mentally unstable young woman who becomes obsessed with Taylor Sloane (Olsen), a social media “influencer” with a seemingly-perfect life in Los Angeles. When Ingrid decides to drop everything and move to the West Coast to befriend Taylor in real life, her behavior turns unsettling and increasingly dangerous.

Jackson Jr. will star as Plaza’s love interest, with Magnussen and Russell playing Olsen’s brother and husband, respectively. Plaza is producing along with Jared Ian Goldman (Jeff Nichols’ Loving, Little Boxes, The Skeleton Twins), Star Thrower Entertainment’s Tim and Trevor White and Adam and Robbie Mirels through their newly formed 141 Entertainment. Mary Solomon, Rick Rickertsen and Allan Mandelbaum are executive producing. The film is currently shooting in Los Angeles.

Jackson Jr. most recently starred in Universal Pictures’ Academy Award-nominated Straight Outta Compton.

Magnussen appeared in the Academy Award-nominated features The Big Short, directed by Adam McKay, and Bridge of Spies, directed by Steven Spielberg. He was most recently seen in FX Network’s multiple Primetime Emmy Awards Nominated series “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”

Russell is best known for starring alongside Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in the action comedy 22 Jump Street, and most recently starred in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! for Paramount Pictures.

Founded by Tim and Trevor White, Star Thrower Entertainment will World Premiere LBJ, directed by Rob Reiner and starring Woody Harrelson, at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. Their upcoming slate includes Taylor Sheridan’s Wind River with Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen set to be released by The Weinstein Company, and thriller The Good Neighbor starring James Caan, which Vertical Entertainment will release in September.
