August 2 brings home Keanu, The Lobster, Batman: The Killing Joke, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and more!

A busy week for home releases kicks off with the animated adaptation of Alan Moore and Brian Bolland’s legendary DC Comics tale Batman: The Killing Joke . Also from Warner Bros. is the comedy actioner Keanu , starring Keegan-Michael Key , Jordan Peele and a very, very cute kitten!
Starring Colin Farrell, The Lobster , then, offers a darkly comic look at relationships with the story of a world where, when individuals cannot find a partner within 45 days, they’re transformed into an animal. The film hails from Dogtooth director Yorgos Lanthimos and also stars John C. Reilly, Rachel Weisz and Jessica Barden.
August 2 also brings home Mother’s Day , the final film from the late Garry Marshall , as well as the comedy Meet the Blacks . You can check out an exclusive set of outtakes from the latter in the player at the bottom of this page.
Other recent big screen releases arriving August 2 include the comedies The Bronze and Puerto Ricans in Paris , the impressive animated adventure April and the Extraordinary World , the Tom Hiddleston-led thriller High-Rise , Manhattan Night , starring Adrien Brody and Yvonne Strahovski, the heist actioner The Trust , starring Elijah Wood and Nicolas Cage, and the sci-fi comedy Lazer Team .
There’s also a pair of recent horror features arriving this week with Catfish and Nerve director Henry Joost’s Viral and, on DVD only, the horror tale Summer Camp .
Shout! Factory this week turns their attention to Philip Kaufman’s brilliant take on Invasion of the Bodysnatchers . Their new set combines the best presentation yet of the 1978 sci-fi thriller with a tremendous number of bonus features.
Also arriving from Shout! Factory on August 2 are the more recent horror titles The Binding and Bite as well as Red Sonja: Queen of Plagues , a motion comic take on Gail Simone’s acclaimed comic book arc.
Small screen releases hitting August 2 include the third season of NBC ‘s The Blacklist and the first season of the network’s Blindspot . There’s also a double serving of television fare for Steven Soderbergh fans as August 2 brings home both the first season of Starz ‘ The Girlfriend Experience and the second season of Cinemax ‘s The Knick .
Arriving via Digital HD the week of August 2 is Universal Pictures ‘ fairtale prequel The Huntsman: Winter’s War as well as the sixth season of HBO ‘s hugely popular Game of Thrones .
