Exclusive photos from avant garde horror movie TABLOID VIVANT.
‘Round these parts we love weird movies. Not just standard issue, stamped and approved horror movies, but films that totally defy the idea of genre.
Y’know…weird shit.
Director Kyle Broom’s festival fave low-budget indie flick TABLOID VIVANT fits in that ill-fitting oddball bin nicely.
The film, which plays like some sort of deranged David Lynch quote by way of Andy Warhol and Roman Polanksi, is set for release later this year and we cannot recommend it enough.
Because it’s really, really weird. And totally unique.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Max (Jesse Woodrow) is an artist seduced by the allure of fame. Sara (Tazmin Brown) is an art critic whose obsessions exceed even his. When she lands a writing gig at a major art magazine, the pair retreats to a cabin in the woods, where Max reveals his strange new painting method. Convinced of its potential, she agrees to collaborate on a piece sure to revolutionize the art world. While both original and mesmerizing, the project reveals something dark and disturbing about their relationship. Like two digital-age Doctor Frankensteins, they manage to make a painting come alive – though the unsettling consequences of their success may be more fit for the pages of a blood-soaked tabloid than the chronicles of art history.
SHOCK got our paint-covered paws on a quartet of exclusive stills from the film below and below that, you can eyeball the brand new trailer…
