The now bi-annual Frontières International Co-Production Market, a weekend of events dedicated to the co-production and financing of genre films between North America and Europe has announced its Full lineup. In addition to previously announced projects from Henrys John McNaughton, A Serbian Films Srdjan Spasojevic and Turbo Kids RKSS Films, comes The Designer, from Graham Reznick; Duel doc The Devil on Wheels; a feature adaptation of Gigi Saul Guerreros El Gigante short and more.
The Montreal Edition of the Frontières International Co-Production Market, coinciding with the lauded, annual Fantasia International Film Festival gets underway July 23-26.
Each edition of the market is a valuable destination for filmmakers, one that values the genre and its potential. I was privileged to attend and observe the Frontières International Co-Production Market at both its Brussels and Montreal editions in 2014. The former marked the first time the Market hit Brussels and what I saw was an inspiring few days, with dedicated directors, producers, distributors and more looking to usher exciting new genre film into the world. Ive also heard feedback since from directors whose projects were selected that their time at Frontières was invaluable.
