Nicholas Hoult, who plays Hank McCoy/Beast in the Bryan Singer-produced X-Men: First Class, is re-teaming with the filmmaker for Jack the Giant Killer.
Deadline says that Hoult has been offered the lead role in the movie, which co-stars Bill Nighy, Stanley Tucci and John Kassir.
Jack the Giant Killer takes an adult look at the Jack and the Beanstalk legend. When a princess is kidnapped, a long-standing peace between men and giants becomes threatened, and a young farmer is given an opportunity to lead a dangerous expedition to the giant kingdom to rescue her.
Singer will direct the New Line/Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures project, written by Christopher McQuarrie, Mark Bomback and Darren Lemke.
