An American Version of I Saw the Devil is in the Works

Because the mindset is that everything still needs to be remade, I Saw the Devil is next in line.  Yes, the rights to Kim Jee-Woon's film have been secured by 1984 Private Defense Contractors, the outfit behind last year's Dredd.

Adi Shankar, of 1984, told The Wrap“Kim Jee-Woon’s ’I Saw the Devil’ is perfect in so many ways. The intention is not to remake the film per se, but rather to “port” it for international audiences."

So, there's the company's intent.

No talent has been brought aboard, nothing to report there.

The original I Saw the Devil a special agent who tracks and torments the serial killer who brutally murdered his fiance.  It's a delicious and very violent cat-and-mouse thriller.
