Jesse McCartney has joined — and should theoretically complete — the leading cast of Fox’s “Locke & Key” series, reports Deadline.
Based on the comic book series by Joe Hill and distributed by IDW Publishing, “Locke & Key” tells of Keyhouse, a New England mansion with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them. The building is also home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all.
McCartney will play Ty Locke, the eldest child of the family, brother to Sarah Bolger’s Kinsey and son to Miranda Otto’s Nina. Nick Stahl is also attached to play Ty’s uncle, Duncan Locke. Mark Romanek (One Hour Photo and Never Let Me Go) will be directing the pilot.
McCartney is known best as a singer-songwriter but has done quite a bit of voicework, including Theodore in the Alvin and the Chipmunks films and Terence in Disney’s direct-to-DVD “Tinker Bell” films. He has appeared on a number of television series in guest-starring capacity, including as a recurring character on “Greek.”
