20th Century Fox announced today that Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is now going to be released July 18, 2014 instead of May 23, 2014. That May spot is now going to be filled by X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Directed by Matt Reeves, the cast includes Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer.
In the film, a growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
