Newcomer Whit Anderson was brought aboard to pen the script, however, as Hero Complex has learned, the project is losing some momentum over a pretty important factor. Y’know, like the script.
The site’s sources say that Anderson delivered a screenplay over the summer.
That script was rejected, forcing the production entities involved to to re-assess the project and figure out what to do next. There’s always the option of finding another writer, but Hero Complex says that excitement for the project might be waning and the studio might kick the film to the curb.
When the project was first announced in late 2010, there was a public outcry as many felt Joss Whedon’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer series was the definitive “Buffy.” Perhaps someone at Atlas/Warner Bros. was listening.
