Two roles potentially filled
Process this but file under “rumor” until confirmed.
Twitch Film says Gary Oldman and Helena Bonham-Carter have been offered roles in Jaume Collet-Serra’s Akira, the live-action film recently given the green light.
Oldman is being sought after for the “Colonel” role and Carter would be cast as “Lady Miyako” (pictured here).
Set in “New Manhattan,” as opposed to Neo-Tokyo, Akira is expected to begin production next February with Garrett Hedlund (Tron: Legacy) possibly starring.
