Another drool-worthy print
Somewhere, I’m sure William Stout is grinning. I think the latest Alamo Drafthouse and Mondo print – for Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park, by Aaron Horkey – is very much influenced by the man who draws dinos so well.
The art you see below was revealed last night at the Alamo Drafthouse “Mondo Mystery Movie.” The event included a 35mm surprise screening of Jurassic Park with legendary FX artist Phil Tippett in attendance. In honor of Alamo’s guest, a surprise 2nd screening of The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad on 35mm was shown (the film that inspired Phil Tippett to be a filmmaker).
Unfortunately, it sounds like you’ll never get one. The print was sold last night to the Drafthouse’s audience. It’s the first in a series of JP-inspired prints leading up to the Blu-ray release of the Jurassic Park trilogy on October 25.
