Editor’s note: Since the Fright Night remake is opening this Friday, I thought we’d re-post our Choice Cuts episode with the director of the original film. Here he takes us on a prop tour and discusses the making of the ’80s vampire classic.
Wrapping up our discussion with writer-director Tom Holland, we finally touch on Fright Night, the 1985 horror-comedy starring William Ragsdale, Roddy McDowall, Chris Sarandon, Amanda Bearse and Stephen Geoffreys. The film spawned a remake due in theaters at the end of the summer and has amassed a legion of fans. Holland was thrilled to open up about the flick, furthermore, he took us on a tour of his house which features a couple of terrific props from the production that were recently restored.
