The actor/comedian will appear in the Dean Koontz adaptation
Patton Oswalt is the latest name to join the upcoming Odd Thomas, Variety reports.
The film is based on a character created by novelist Dean Koontz and features a clairvoyant with the power to see (but not hear) the dead. First appearing in 2003’s “Odd Thomas,” the character has returned for three subsequent books, “Forever Odd,” “Brother Odd” and “Odd Hours,” as well as for two graphic novels.
Oswalt is said to play a sculptor named Oswald “Ozzie” P. Boone. He’ll join Anton Yelchin in the title role with Addision Timlin starring as Thomas’ girlfriend. The likely (but still not confirmed) cast also includes Willem Dafoe and Nico Tortorella.
The film will be directed by Stephen Sommers, who is also producing for the Sommers Co., along with Fusion Films partners John Baldecchi and Howard Kaplan.
Odd Thomas is scheduled to start filming on May 2 in Santa Fe, NM.
