The Goddard, Whedon creature feature
In an article over at Variety about MGM, its constant woes and catalog of unreleased titles that need a home, it was revealed that Sony Pictures may shoulder distribution duties for some of the films sitting on MGM’s shelf and the studio’s 4,000+ title library.
The Cabin in the Woods, Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon’s horror film, was one of the flicks specifically mentioned in the piece.
The deal isn’t finalized, but the trade paper says things are looking good.
Also languishing at MGM, the Dowdle Bros. film The Poughkeepsie Tapes.
If the deal goes through, we’ll see how fast Sony moves to get Cabin into theaters.
