A gang bang road trip goes awry?
I don’t understand Kevin Smith’s tirade against the press. Perhaps if I followed his incessant Tweets or the drama (Southwest Airlines) or the press (Cop Out), I’d know, but to be honest, I don’t care. There are Smith films I love and Smith films that don’t agree with me, but with a horror film on the way, my curiosity is on the rise, so I’ve been tuning in to what the man is up to. And lately, he’s been on a bit of a rant.
Recently, he said he’ll be doing no press for Red State, which debuts at Sundance. No press screening. No interviews. Screw “bloggers.” Lots of radio, he says, which sort of contradicts the whole “no press” thing, especially now that he’s fielding requests from podcast fellas via his Twitter account. (Hm, I wonder if he’d appear on Choice Cuts?)
Anyway, through the miasma of online chatter, the Sundance site was updated with a synopsis for the film and it goes like this:
Three horny high-school boys come across an online ad from an older woman looking for a gang bang. Boys being boys, they hit the road to satisfy their libidinal urges. But what begins as a fantasy takes a dark turn as they come face-to-face with a terrifying “holy” force with a fatal agenda.
If you missed the teaser, follow this link. Oh, and if you’re looking for all things related to the film, Smith has been talking about it via his Smodcast…and that’s apparently the only place he’ll be going in-depth about the picture.
