American Film Market Short Bites

Shadowland, Cameraon & Piranha and more

Plenty of information has come out of the American Film Market over the last 24 hours. Here’s a culmination of all that has gone down. For more headlines and images from the AFM follow this link!

• Harvey Weinstein thanked James Cameron for the Avatar> director’s comments about Piranha 3D, citing it as good press that was “planned” (not really, of course).

• Jackson Rathbone of Dread looks to be joining the previously announced Bill Nighy in a screen adaptation of Peter Straub’s “Shadowland.” Erik Canuel directs.

• IFC’s Midnight VOD label has picked up the Adrien Brody-starring Wrecked. The actor plays a man who wakes up in a wrecked car at the bottom of a cliff with no memory as to who he is or how he got there.

• The UK’s Metrodome has shored up a deal to release the New Zealand production The Devil’s Rock, a film by Paul Campion (Eel Girl) we first told you all about right here.
