Arriving in 2012
Missing a Resident Evil film faithful to the video games? Well, Sony and Capcom are re-teaming for another animated feature, a sequel to 2008’s Resident Evil: Degeneration (which was faithful, yes, but arguably flawed).
Resident Evil: Damnation is now in the works with Makoto Kamiya returning to direct. The film is being geared for a 2012 release in 2012.
Expect a theatrical release in Japan and likely a direct-to-DVD/limited theatrical run here in the States, similar to Degeneration. Plot details have not been revealed, however, Leon Kennedy is back.
