Fright Night Remake Director Confirmed

Rumored contender officially on-board

Variety confirmed this evening the news the LA Times reported on earlier this month. Negotiations have ended and Craig Gillespie is officially on board to helm the Fright Night remake. He directed the quirky Lars and the Real Girl and serves as a director and producer on The United States of Tara.

Dreamworks hired Marti Noxon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mad Men) to update Tom Holland’s story of a teenager who learns a vampire has moved into the house next door. The teen hires a local horror movie host to help slay the creature before it claims his girlfriend.

Producer Mike De Luca talked about the direction the update will take in our previous news post right here. More on Fright Night as we hear it.
