Jay Baruchel Tackles Slasher Flicks with Pig

Hoping for it to be his directorial debut

Comic actor Jay Baruchel (Tropic Thunder and the upcoming She’s Out of My League) has revealed to ComingSoon.net that he has been working on a script for a slasher film called Pig that he hopes to make his directorial debut. At one point, he had been writing it as a comic book with plans to turn it into a movie later, but the idea’s transition to the latter seems to be moving forward.

“I’m trying to get that going as best I can, ‘cause all I want to do is direct horror movies in Montreal for the rest of my life,” he told them, claiming that he doesn’t plan on acting in it unless it’s to play a small role of someone who gets killed off, and he only would give a small tease about his take on the genre. “Without giving too much away, it’s a 21st century reimagining of the slasher film with a lot of socio-racial commentary, that’s all I’ll say.”
