From Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment
While Summit Entertainment may be behind the Twilight franchise, their next attempt at a vampire movie may be slightly more appealing to genre fans. Brad Pitt’s production company Plan B Entertainment and Summit have paired to make a new re-imagining of Dracula titled Vlad according to The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog.
Vlad centers on Dracula as a young prince; he is known to history as Vlad the Impaler, the man behind the Dracula myth. The article says that the script comes from actor Charlie Hunnam, with music video director and photographer Anthony Mandler in talks to direct the project. Mandler’s reel so impressed the execs at the company that they put Vlad on the fast track.
With Vlad, Summit hopes to make a “visually edgy and radical period movie that also will break a new talent.” Pitt is producing with Dede Gardner. More when we hear it.
