Creature Feature Tradition Lives on in Blackout Trailer

Monsters run amok in L.A.

As if Los Angeles didn’t have enough problems. In The Blackout, a series of earthquakes around the Christmas holiday gives way to a monster problem in the downtown area.

The Robert David Sanders-directed film was completed in late 2008 and over the last year has been finding distribution worldwide (no word yet on the U.S.). Over at the official site for production outfit Starway Pictures they’ve got both a teaser and trailer for The Blackout which you can watch HERE. This is Sanders’ feature debut

And yes, that’s the promo art they’re going out with on the left. They lose points for ripping off Feast‘s campaign. Nevertheless, interesting concept and trailer. Give it a look. We’ll leave you with the official synopsis:

When an apartment building’s lights go out mysteriously, all of the tenants put aside their problems and band together to get to the bottom of the city-wide blackout. Deep in the basement of the high-rise, a hideous breed of monster hatches and begins to wreak havoc. Everyone must find a way to kill the blood-thirsty creatures and survive the darkness before it destroys the world.
