Being Human developed in America
Syfy has ordered up 13 episodes of Being Human, an American take on the British television series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is now seeking a writer to adapt the story of a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf who shack up in an apartment and try to live their lives.
“It turned out great as we can now do an American version,” Syfy president Dave Howe tells the trade. “We’ve always been keen on vampires and werewolves, and we loved the originality of ‘Being Human,’ the fact that the fantastical creatures in it are very young, accessible and charming.”
The British Being Human currently airs on BBC America, so Syfy is pushing hard to do their own approach to the idea rather than copy the original series.
