New Elm Street Mom Talks Remake

Zombie told her to do horror film

Connie Britton, the new mom residing on Elm Street in the upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street remake, talked about her role as Marge Thompson with Pop Wrap.

The actress admits to never having seen the original and even after a bit of a push from pal Rob Zombie she was hesitant to take a role in the Platinum Dunes reboot of the Freddy Krueger franchise. “But when I heard Jackie Earle Haley was doing Freddy, I thought that this was the time. But in retrospect, now that I’ve seen a good part of the original, it made no difference because what we do in the new one is so substantially different.”

Britton reveals she’s not sure “the role is as well represented in the movie as it could have been. My sense is that the focus won’t be on my character as much as I previously thought, but we’ll see.”

Well, that’s because the film is about Britton’s on-screen daughter Nancy Thompson (Rooney Mara) and Freddy Krueger! For more with Britton read the full interview here.
