Faces some toothsome competition
The Nicolas Cage-starring period tale Season of the Witch has locked a March 19, 2010 release date. Lionsgate is handling distribution of the film, directed by Dominic Sena, and obviously feels confident enough to put it up against Dimension Films’ Piranha 3D.
Co-starring Ron Perlman and Stephen Campbell Moore, Season finds Cage playing a knight who must transport a suspected witch, accused of starting the Black Plauge, to trial. Along the way they face a mystical and treacherous landscape.
