Extended cut has been viewed!
Update: Huge update, in fact. Phil and Sarah report they have, in their possession, a workprint on VHS! 145-minute cut. What’s on it? Read on.
As Phil and Sarah, operators of the Clive Barker Revelations site, are right to point out, Barker, for decades, has had a memorized answer to the question he’s asked time and time again: “Will we see a director’s cut of Nightbreed?”
The answer, in short, was usually “the excised footage is lost.”
It turns out, not really. Barker pal Mark Miller discovered the footage does exist, however, the studio holding onto it believes there is not enough interest in seeing an extended cut to warrant a trip to the vault. Such a task would require money, of course, and the studio doesn’t even think it’s “worth the cost to upgrade to Blu-ray”.
