Lithgow Versus Dexter in Season 4

Playing the “Trinity Killer”

According to the industry trades, John Lithgow is set to play a serial killer in Showtime’s Dexter. He’s locked for all twelve episodes in the fourth season – beginning September 27th – as Walter Simmons, Dexter’s new nemesis.

THR says “Simmons is described as an unassuming, mild-mannered suburbanite who has been living a duel life as one of America’s most prolific and deadliest serial killers, dubbed the ‘Trinity Killer’ because of his proclivity to kill in threes. He relocates to Miami after being tracked by F.B.I. Special Agent Frank Lundy (Keith Carradine) where Dexter Morgan is brought on to assist in the investigation and becomes fascinated with Trinity’s skills.”

Sweet, no? Lithgow’s credits are extensive and include Twilight Zone: The Movie, Raising Cain, Blow Out and Dreamgirls.
