Jack Olsen’s spec script Within was picked up by Sony’s Screen Gems.
The thriller is described as being in the vein of The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and focuses on a couple whose marriage is intruded upon by the baby surrogate they have hired. It seems she not only wants the baby for herself, but she wants the hubby, too.
Michael Lynne, Bob Shaye and Dylan Sellers will produce through Unique Features.
Sony’s Screen Gems has picked up “Within,” a thriller spec written by Jack Olsen, with Michael Lynne, Bob Shaye and Dylan Sellers attached to produce through the Unique Features banner. Screen Gems president Clint Culpepper and senior vp production Scott Strauss will oversee the project.
As THR notes, Unique is the new production outfit started by New Line founders-turned-producers Shaye and Lynne.
