Nope, it’s not a remake
Ehren Kruger (The Ring) penned an adaptation of Jennifer Egan’s 2007 novel The Keep which he has sold to Rogue Pictures.
The synopsis is described differently depending on where you go on the web to find it. Variety calls it a “thriller that revolves around a mysterious prisoner who seduces a local woman with his tale of a supernatural secret that can transform her life.” Sundry book sites refer to the story as “a creepy, gothic thriller [about] two cousins who reunite to renovate a German castle twenty years after a misguided childhood prank changed their lives.”
Either way, at least you know it’s a supernatural thriller of some type. And of course it has nothing to do with Michael Mann’s 1983 film of the same name which is (loosely!) based on F. Paul Wilson’s novel.
Kruger will co-produce The Keep StillKing Films and Daniel Bobker.
