Archive prints destroyed
Universal Studios’ backlot fire on Sunday is causing a ripple effect. Organizers of the New Beverly Cinema’s “New Beverly Midnights” program report their anticipated screenings of John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness, Sudden Death and Bride of Chucky have been “indefinitely postponed” because the archive prints for each of these titles were lost in the blaze. The New Bev (located at 7165 W. Beverly Blvd.) will still hold midnight presentations of Chopping Mall on July 26th. For more details, visit the NBM’s MySpace page.
