Two-part mini-series airing this fall
Anyone else notice the rise in fright fare at Lifetime? And I’m not talking about the “you raped/mugged/or beat me…now it’s time for revenge!”-type thrillers. The network for women is taking a serious approach to horror. A vampire series (“Blood Ties”) is currently thriving during the nighttime schedule and now they’re taking a crack at witchcraft with a mini-series called “The Gathering” – no relation to the Christina Ricci-starring film. “Battlestar Galactica” producer David Eick and John Shiban (Rest Stop, “Supernatural”) are overseeing what they call a realistic approach to witches. In “Gathering” a doctor searching for his missing wife discovers a coven of witches in New York City. Right now the mini is expected to air in two parts this fall.
