Paramount Vantage Purchases Ink

Wilkinson tattooed with dollar signs

Screenwriter Harris Wilkinson’s Ink is such a hot commodity to Paramount Vantage that the new “specialty division” of the studio has sewn their lips shut when it comes to the story’s premise.

Wilkinson recently made the script sale to Vantage, says The Hollywood Reporter, and it will be the first horror project for the fledgling company. The writer’s credits include Stir of Echoes 2: The Dead Speak for Lionsgate, Universal’s Awake and New Line’s Bone Canyon.

What Vantage head of productions and acquisitions Amy Israel will say about the film is that it is set in the tattoo industry and is an “original take on the horror genre (that) is hugely exciting.” Mandalay Independent Pictures (who made news yesterday with their outspoken plans for The Birds remake) and Alan and Peter Riche are producing. Ink is currently going out to directors.
