CS Video: Lights Out Director and Cast Interviews

Lights Out Director and Cast Interviews

In Lights Out, a young woman (Teresa Palmer) has blocked out a certain someone from her childhood. This terrifying figure is now haunting her little brother (Gabriel Bateman). It all seems to be tied to their ailing mother (Maria Bello). The film is based on a short done by director David F. Sandberg and is going to scare the pants off you. We got a chance to sit down with Palmer, Bello, Sandberg and his wife (star of the short with a small part in this film), Lotta Losten, to chat about the film.

We learned about working with Bateman, who is a huge horror fan, the trope of going into the basement, how Palmer was actually her own lighting designer/op during a scene with a blacklight and how important the lighting really was. We talked about jump scares, filming within a PG-13 restraint, and whether or not a certain someone in the film is real or a figment of a hereditary imagination.

What to know what’s in store and why you’re not going to sleep for a week? Here’s the official info: “When Rebecca (Palmer) left him, she thought she left her childhood fears behind. Growing up, she was never really sure of what was and wasn’t real when the lights went out…and now her little brother Martin (Bateman) is experiencing the same unexplained and terrifying events that had once tested her sanity and threatened her safety. A frightening entity with a mysterious attachment to their mother Sophie, has reemerged. But this time, as Rebecca gets closer to unlocking the truth, there is no denying that all their lives are in danger…once the lights go out.”

Check out our interviews below and let us know if you were able to sleep with the lights on after the film.
