Ivan Reitman has plans to develop the upcoming young adult novel The Kid Table into a feature film, reports Production Weekly.
Justin Adler, television writer for episodes of “Better Off Ted,” “Less Than Perfect” and “Futurama” (among others) will adapt the book, which tells the story of teenager Ingrid Bell and her five cousins. When the eldest moves from sitting at the kid table to the adult table at family events, Ingrid begins a coming-of-age exploration of her own maturity and of the bonds she shares with her relatives.
Adler is also the author of The Escort, an original screenplay now in development at DreamWorks.
