[WARNING: Spoilers ahead for past seasons of Game of Thrones]
As we creep towards season six of HBO‘s Game of Thrones, an interesting promotional campaign has gotten the internet in a tizzy: posters featuring characters as masks in the Hall of Faces. The Hall of Faces, located in the House of Black and White, contains the skinned faces of the dead, to be worn by the Faceless Men. In the sixteen character posters, some of the faces belong to those who are dead, like Catelyn and Robb Stark. Others were last seen alive, like Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister. More troubling is that in the new trailers, a voice cries, “One way or another, a face will be added to the wall.” I have heard rumors that as many as three characters might be killed off this season.
Using the Hall of Faces promotional campaign, let’s take a look at who might be back… and who might die.
Game of Thrones returns to HBO with its sixth season premiere on April 24th.

Robert Baratheon
Last seen: Killed in a hunting accident. Cersei's former husband and the legally-recognized father to her children, Robert was described by Barristan Selmy as "a good man, a great warrior, and a terrible king."
Chances of return? Well, he died in season one. Is there any need for him to return?

Joffrey Baratheon
Last seen: At the "Purple Wedding." The sadistic king was briefly betrothed to Sansa Stark before being married to Margaery Tyrell, a woman better equipped to deal with his torture. At their wedding celebration, Joffrey was poisoned, which his uncle Tyrion was eventually convicted of.
Chance of return? I hope so. Joffrey is one of those villains who is just pure evil, and fascinatingly twisted.

Tyrion Lannister
Last seen: In Meereen. After Daenerys fled the city on dragon back, he remained to oversee the council.
Chance of survival? Tyrion was the first "last seen living" character to be featured in the Hall of Faces, which freaked everyone out. I don't see Tyrion dying; at least, I hope not. He is my favorite character. He seems to have ingratiated himself with Daenerys' people, so if someone is still trying to collect on the price Cersei put on his head, they are going to face an army of opposition.

Jamie Lannister
Last seen: Alive. At Cersei's behest, he traveled to Dorne to rescue Myrcella. Doran, who took over ruling Dorne when Oberyn was killed, does not wish to bring war to his people, so he lets Jaime take her home, on the condition that Myrcella's betrothed, and Doran's son, Trystane, go with. Ellaria seems to be looking to start a war, so she doses Myrcella with a slow-acting poison that kills her on the ship home. She dies in Jaime's arms, after he tells her - and she accepts - that he is her biological father.
Chance of death? 50/50. Cersei will probably want his head on a spike when she learns of her daughter's death, but she has her own issues to deal with. Ellaria seems to have a death wish for all the Lannisters, so she and the Sand Snakes are likely to come after him.

Cersei Lannister
Last seen: Being slut-shamed by the Faith Militant. Cersei was initially all for the Faith Militant cleaning up the perversions of the city, but she didn't count on being tried for her own perversions. She admitted to sleeping with her cousin, Lancel, but still denies that her children were fathered by her twin brother Jaime.
Chances of death? Cersei isn't going anywhere. I see a lot of bodies being left in her wake, but I don't see anyone or anything killing Cersei. Evil never dies.

Oberyn Martell
Last seen: Dead. Killed while acting as Tyrion Lannister's champion during Tyrion's trial by combat for the death of King Joffrey.
Chance of return? Pretty good, if only in a flashback or vision of some sort, to prevent Ellaria from getting their daughters killed in her quest for war.

Nym Sand
Last seen: Aligning with her step mother Ellaria to avenge her father, Oberyn.
Chance of survival? Nym is one of three Sand Snakes (Oberyn's daughters, all by different mothers). Interestingly, she is the only one featured in the Hall of Faces promos. I'm not sure what that means, other than she will probably have an expanded role this season. Last season, I could hardly tell the girls apart. All are pretty and deadly.

Melisandre
Last seen: Returning to Castle Black after Stannis followed her recommendation and sacrificed his own daughter in hopes of improving his army's chances. The sacrifice didn't work, and less than 24 hours later, the Bolton army slaughters Stannis' troops. Stannis himself is killed by Brienne.
Chance of death? Pretty good, especially after Davos finds out about Melisandre's role in Shireen's murder.

Tormund Giantsbane
Last seen: Partnering with Jon Snow to convince the wildlings to join the fight with Night's Watch. Jon promised that the wildlings wouldn't have to bow to Jon; just fight with them and they will be given land and safe passage. Seems like a good deal to me, and while several of the wildling elders agree to, most do not. When the White Walkers attacked the wildlings camp at Hardhome, Jon and Tormund narrowly escape death and return to Castle Black.
Chance of death? Pretty strong if his people see him as a traitor in the same way that Alliser and the Night's Watch saw Jon as a traitor. Though the White Walker attack wasn't Jon's fault, people fail to see reason in the face of many losses.

Daario Naharis
Last seen: Searching for his lover, Daenerys, after the Sons of the Harpy started slaughtering those watching the Great Games and she escaped on the back of her dragon.
Chance of survival? Since Daenerys' betrothed, Hizdahr was killed in the Harpy attack, there is no one standing in his way for Daenerys' heart. Jealousy won't kill Daario.

Daenerys Targaryen
Last seen: Alive, but in the middle of nowhere. After the Sons of the Harpy turn the Great Games of Meereen into a bloodbath, Daenerys is flown to safety by Drogon. Unfortunately, Drogon is badly injured and Daenerys still has her other two dragons locked in a cave. Men on horses surround her, hundreds of them, and they appear to be Dothraki.
Chance of death? Slim - at least at the hands of the Dothraki. She ingratiated herself to them once before; she can do it again.

Catelyn Stark
Last seen: At the "Red Wedding." The matriarch of the Stark clan, Catelyn was murdered at the wedding of her brother, Edmure Tully, to Roslin Frey. The attack, which also claimed the life of Catelyn's eldest son, Robb, and his pregnant wife Talisa, was orchestrated by Roose Bolton (whose son Ramsay married Sansa Stark), Walder Frey (Roslin's father), and Tywin Lannister (father of Cersei and Jaime).
Chance of return? Pretty good. With Catelyn's daughters in trouble, her bastard son recently (maybe?) dead, and her youngest sons missing for the last season or two, the Starks could certainly use some mothering, even if it is only at the hands of a faceless man.

Robb Stark
Last seen: Killed at the "Red Wedding," which took place between his uncle and a Frey daughter to whom he was originally betrothed.
Chance of return? I honestly had not thought much about Robb since he died. Since the Stark clan always came across as one of the two main families (the other being the Lannisters), there is always room for more Stark.

Sansa Stark
Last seen: Jumping off a wall with Theon Greyjoy. Theon was raised with Sansa, but betrayed the Stark family and was tortured by Ramsay Bolton until he gave up his identity and became Reek, Ramsay's servant. When Sansa finds Theon in Ramsay's servitude, he seems to be caught between his brainwashing and helping an old friend. After killing Ramsay's lover, Theon helps Sansa escape Ramsay and his men, but they are coming fast and the only way out is to jump off the castle wall and hope the snow beneath is soft enough to cushion their fall.
Chance of survival? Pretty good. Jumping off a wall seems a sad and anticlimactic way to die on Game of Thrones, after all.

Arya Stark
Last seen: Killing Meryn Trant. Her attempts to abandon her identity to please the Faceless Man failed, and she was rendered blind as punishment. To be fair, Trant, who liked to rape prepubescent girls to death, totally deserved the swift, brutal murder Arya delivered.
Chance of survival? Pretty good. Arya has a lot more story to be told.

Jon Snow
Last seen: Jon Snow has been the hottest topic since he was killed or "killed" at the end of season five. Elected to Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, Alliser Thorne led an uprising against Jon after he lost a number of the Night's Watch in a battle with White Walkers while trying to recruit/save wildlings. The final shots of season five show Jon bleeding to death in the snow.
Chance of survival? Depends what you mean by "survival." Actor Kit Harrington has been seen on the set, in costume. It seems pretty fair to say that Jon died in that scene, but it also seems likely that he will either reappear as part of the Hall of Faces, or that Melisandre will use her witchy ways to bring him back to life.
