Next up for director Lenny Abrahamson is an adaptation of Emma Donoghue‘s novel, Room, with Brie Larson (Short Term 12, Trainwreck) in the lead role alongside Jacob Tremblay, Joan Allen and William H. Macy.
Donoghue also penned the screenplay which tells the story of story of Jack (Tremblay), a 5 year-old who is looked after by his loving and devoted mother (Larson) in a bit of a situation that’s far from typical. The two are trapped, confined to a windowless, 10-by-10-foot space, which Jack’s mother refers to as “Room.” She’s created a whole universe for Jack within Room, but as Jack’s curiosity about their situation grows, they enact a risky plan to escape.
That’s the story in a nutshell and just below is the first teaser trailer and poster for the movie, which was just announced as a Special Presentation selection at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival. Give the trailer a watch and share your thoughts in the comments below.
