Watch: Over an Hour Long Conversation Between Legends John Cleese and Eric Idle

John Cleese has been on the book tour circuit, promoting his memoir “So, Anyway…” The book chronicles Cleese’s childhood up through the creation of the historic comedy group Monty Python. I have yet to read the book, but Cleese is a huge influence on me, and I will probably pick up the book very soon. On his tour, he made a stop at Los Angeles’ Alex Theatre on November 18th for a chat with his old comrade in humor Eric Idle. Their conversation, which lasts over an hour long, you can watch below.

They cover many different topics. They talk about the formation of Python, Cleese’s controlling mother, Idle putting together the reunion show at the O2, and they even read some sketches that predate Python. If you are a Monty Python fan, this is not something you want to pass by.

The two have known each other for over fifty years, so the chemistry in how they talk together is exciting, honest, and, of course, funny. It is publicity like this that makes me want to go out and buy the product being advertised, in this case being Cleese’s book. Again, you can watch the video of these two comedy icons below. I highly recommend doing so.
