Does Anyone Even Realize ‘Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb’ is the Third One?

I’m having a hard time justifying why I’m even posting this second trailer for Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb. I’m not going to go see this movie and not because I think it looks bad, I don’t know what it looks like, all I’ve done is skim the trailer for the above screen capture of the smiling monkey. I’m just not interested. I saw the first one, and it was — whatever, and I never saw the second one. So why go see this one?

Ben Stiller is back and so are Robin Williams, Owen Wilson and others so I’m sure this one will be huge at the box office, with Stiller returning to play Larry, the museum night watchman, in a story “spanning the globe, uniting favorite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic before it is gone forever.”

I do wonder, though, how many people realize this is the third Night at the Museum movie. Does anyone even really remember there was a second one, or does that memory just blur into the realization there was even a first one?

The film arrives December 19, here’s the latest look.
