I have no idea why they finally greenlit the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies movie adaptation, especially after the lackluster response to Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, a film I admittedly liked more than most (he threw a cow!), but have no problem understanding why many were turned off. Now, after several years of trying to get it off the ground, yet another Seth Grahme-Smith adaptation is on the way and just above is your first look at the Bennet sisters with their swords drawn courtesy of EW.
The film stars Lily James (Wrath of the Titans) as Elizabeth alongside her sisters Jane (Bella Heathcote), Lydia (Ellie Bamber), Mary (Millie Brady) and Kitty (Suki Waterhouse) as it tells the story of the Bennet sisters and their time as zombie slayers after being taught how to fight like Japanese ninjas by Mr Darcy (Sam Riley). Jack Huston stars as Wickham and Matt Smith will play Mr. Collins.
It’s a film that’s been described as a Victorian-era Zombieland with a script from director Burr Steers and David O. Russell.
Screen Gems has not yet announced a release date.
