Sony Classics is making ready for the November 14 release of Bennett Miller‘s Foxcatcher, hoping to generate both audience interest and rise in the Oscar rankings as the film has slipped a bit since its big premiere at Cannes. Seeing how so many had already seen it going into Toronto I felt lonely in writing my “A-” review as most of the critics around me seemed to have already moved on. Hopefully the film will find new life in a couple weeks as it deserves its time in the sun with everyone and not just a few select critics lucky enough to attend a film festival.
Foxcatcher tells the gripping, true story of Olympic Wrestling Champion brothers Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) and Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo) and their relationship with the eccentric John du Pont (Steve Carell), heir to the du Pont Chemical fortune that led to murder.
Here’s a look at the new poster for the movie and if you haven’t yet read my review you can find it here.
