During last night’s “Treehouse of Horror” episode of “The Simpsons” the long-running animated show yet again paid tribute to Stanley Kubrick, though this time they went all out. While I didn’t seem to notice any references to Lolita, Fear and Desire or The Killing it’s easy to spot references to Eyes Wide Shut and A Clockwork Orange as the main inspiration along with asides to Full Metal Jacket, Barry Lyndon and a great use of an iPhone standing in as the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey as Homer goes ape.
