In a new interview director Guillermo del Toro says the first draft of Pacific Rim 2 is completed with an eye to start shooting around November next year. He also adds, “Some of your favorite characters come back, some others don’t because we have decided that we’re going to shoot ambitiously and say ‘Let’s hope we have three movies.’ So some characters come in at the end of the second, hoping that it will ramp up on the third one.” [Collider]

Javier Bardem is reportedly in talks to star as the villain in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 as a ghost captain who blames Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) for the death of his brother and is searching for a supernatural object to aid him. Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg are directing for a July 7, 2017 release date. [THR]
Jackie Earle Haley has joined the cast of London Has Fallen for director Babak Najafi in which Gerard Butler returns as a U.S. Secret Service agent tasked with stopping a terrorist threat — this time overseas. When he attends the British prime minister’s funeral with the U.S. president (Aaron Eckhart) and Speaker of the House (Morgan Freeman), a deadly plot to kill powerful world leaders reveals itself. Warwick Davis, who starred as Wicket in Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi and Weazel and Wald in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, will return to star in Star Wars: Episode VII. No word on what the character may be.
