I’m still upset I missed Chris Rock’s Top Five at the Toronto Film Festival, but then again, it’s not like I’ll have to wait long to see it as Paramount snatched it up and has already set a December 5 release date.
Written by, directed by and starring Rock, Top Five tells the story of New York City comedian-turned-film star Andre Allen, whose unexpected encounter with a journalist forces him to confront both the career that made him famous and the life he left behind. And along with Rock, the film co-stars Rosario Dawson, J.B. Smoove, Gabrielle Union, Tracy Morgan, Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Jerry Seinfeld, Adam Sandler, Whoopi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd and Romany Malco.
And as if all that wasn’t enough, Chris Rock is going to host “Saturday Night Live” on November 1 with musical guest Prince. To be honest, I’m more excited about that than I am the movie, it’ almost as if that show was made specifically for me.
