Just below is the first French poster for Taken 3 or Tak3n as it will officially be referred to. Yes, that’s right, the “e” is now a “3” and if this poster is any indication the number “3” plays a huge role in the film’s plot because what other possible reason could there be for a poster that turns the “O” in the Hollywood sign into a “3”? Seriously, help me figure this out.
I’m actually able to give them a little leeway with the title since this will be the first Taken film where someone isn’t actually “taken”. This time the bad guys are after Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) himself, so if they wanted to spice up the title a little, whatever, I can get down with calling it Takthreen.
Who knows, maybe the story is actually a Qui-Gon Jinn, Star Wars spin-off where we learn Bryan Mills is actually a Jedi knight and he’s being hunted by the Takthreen people from the planet Takthree, and they’ve found their way to Hollywood and maybe they’re obsessed with the number 3, which would not only explain the title, but would explain the poster as well… Whew, maybe it isn’t as dumb as it looks.
Takethreen hits theaters on January 9.
