I’ll be interested to see what audiences think of Kevin Smith‘s Tusk once it hits theaters this weekend, September 19. As I wrote in my review, I respect the film and the fact Smith is making the movies he wants to make rather than studio garbage, but I wasn’t a very big fan of the film overall, finding it rather dumb whereas it could have been a legitimately unsettling horror.
Today A24 has released a new clip from the movie, featuring one scene in which Wallace (Justin Long) has a run-in with an odd immigration official on his way up north to Canada where he eventually finds himself held captive by a crazy man in the woods with strange intentions.
You can read my review of the film right here and check out the clip below. Let me know if you find this particularly funny, because this was just one of the moments I felt sort of landed rather flat, playing more like a bit rather than a natural scene in a movie.
