Remember Sean Harris in Prometheus? He was Fifield, the scientist who gets infected and returns back to the ship (see Mission: Impossible 5, though the site does say he’s only been offered the role and they are currently negotiating the contract, so I guess it’s not official-official just yet.
Shooting on the film, however, is already underway as videos and pictures from the set have been running rampant online as Tom Cruise steps back into the shoes of Ethan Hunt, Simon Pegg is returning as tech guru Benji Dunn, Ving Rhames is back as Luther Stickell and Jeremy Renner reprising his role as William Brandt from Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.
Rebecca Ferguson has joined the cast as the lead female with Alec Baldwin playing a high-ranking CIA officer overseeing Hunt’s division, similar to the role played by Laurence Fishburne in Mission: Impossible III.
Mission: Impossible 5 is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2015.
