Patrick Wilson Exits Marvel’s ‘Ant-Man’

Tonight at Comic Con is the big Marvel Studios presentation during which I’m sure we’ll be hearing a few titles that will fill in Deadline reports Patrick Wilson, Matt Gerard and Kevin Weisman have exited the film.

Of course, these are peripheral characters and Gerard and Weisman’s characters are actually no longer part of the story as the script, most recently written by Gabriel Ferrari and Andrew Barrer, has gone through some changes. In Wilson’s case it’s a matter of the delays in production resulting in a scheduling conflict. So don’t fret.

The leads remain Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas and the July 17, 2015 release date is still intact.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.
