Earlier this month a rumor suggested a possible sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy would feature a “Planet Hulk”-esque storyline allowing Mark Ruffalo‘s Bruce Banner a way into the cosmic side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Guardians director James Gunn, however, tells The Playlist that rumor “is absolute, 100% bullshit… It feels like a great relief to finally say this after all the dumb stuff on the Internet.”
Yeah, that stupid Internet! It’s so dumb!
Taking things further Gunn says, “There’s not going to be a ‘Planet Hulk’ movie, there was never going to be a ‘Planet Hulk’ movie, there was never a plan for the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy – I wouldn’t want the Hulk to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy! And it’s all a bunch of complete bullshit.”
To that I have to say, calm down… EXCLAMATION POINT!
Meanwhile Guardians of the Galaxy is getting a bunch of Twitter raves while Marvel’s mouthpiece and head honcho Kevin Feige is teasing an Avengers and Guardians crossover, as if we didn’t see that coming down the line in one of the gagillion sequels the studio has planned through now and the end of time.
Other than that, below is a new IMAX featurette as well as over six minutes from the film in the form of tw new clips. Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on August 1.
