Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron Cover ‘Entertainment Weekly’ for ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’

I’ll probably approach Mad Max: Fury Road with some form of trepidation all the way up until I finally sit down to see it considering it completed its first round of filming back in December 2012 and has since moved release dates countless times, currently settling on May 15, 2015. However, an out-of-the-gates summer start is a sign of confidence from Warner Bros. who’ve finally released the first official image from the film via the following “Entertainment Weekly” magazine cover.

Directed by the franchise’s original director, George Miller, the film finds Tom Hardy taking over for Mel Gibson as road warrior Max Rockatansky, while Charlize Theron steps in as a bad-ass commander named Imperator Furiosa.

As for the plot, the story is said to take place a short while after the story detailed after 1985’s Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and this time around the story centers on Max (Hardy) and the “Five Wives,” a group of women Max must protect from the bad guys as he flees across the post-apocalyptic wasteland in what Miller has described as a Road War.

“I wanted to tell a linear story-a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes,” Miller told EW. “In this crucible of very intense action, the characters are revealed.”

I like the sound of that.
