I saw Richard Linklater‘s Boyhood last week and while I don’t have a full review online for you just yet, my opinion on the film is no secret as I updated my list of the Best Movies of 2014 so far and will say this… It’s hard to think I will see a better film this year.
Now, that said, IFC has released two clips from the film, which was filmed over short periods from 2002 to 2013, covering 12 years in the life of a family. At the center is Mason (Ellar Coltrane), who with his sister Samantha (Lorelei Linklater), are taken on an emotional and transcendent journey through the years, from childhood to adulthood. Patricia Arquette and Ethan Hawke co-star.
I can say that you can safely watch both clips and, in fact, you can probably watch any trailer that’s released as this is no ordinary movie in that it isn’t about spoilers as much as it’s about experiencing it.
It doesn’t hit theaters until July 11, so why not treat yourself to a taste right now.
Here’s the trailer if you haven’t yet seen it.
