We haven’t heard much about Mission: Impossible 5 as of late, which gives reason to at least pay attention to a new rumor that the production may be looking at Jessica Chastain as the film’s female lead.
The rumor comes from a site called Schmoes Know, which I’ve heard of, but don’t really know much about so let’s just keep this tempered for the moment. However, considering Chastain was lined up to star opposite Tom Cruise in Oblivion before scheduling forced her out this doesn’t exactly seem too far fetched.
There isn’t too much we know about the film as of yet other than Christopher McQuarrie will direct, Cruise will return as IMF agent Ethan Hunt and it is set to hit theaters on December 25, 2015. However, if you keep an eye on McQuarrie’s Twitter feed you’ll see just how much traveling he’s been doing as of late, mostly in Italy (some London), and answers one fan asking what Cruise is up to as of late and he responded, “Training for a little summer project,” with the hashtag #MI5Diary.
Perhaps we’ll know more soon.
